The International Champions Cup (ICC)

The International Champions Cup (ICC) is a yearly pre-season tournament held in the summer. Up until 2015, the ICC was held exclusively in the USA, where the best of European teams would join sides from the American continent in competing for the trophy. However, the 2015 International Champions Cup, as a part of the expansion promised, will have both China and Australia playing host to tournaments simultaneously at the end of July. Brought to Melbourne by Nine Touring and Events, TLA Worldwide and RSE Ventures, the International Champions Cup Australia, presented by Audi, will see three of the world’s best football teams compete in one of Australia’s most highly anticipated events.

Hosted at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), one of Australia’s biggest and most popular sporting stadiums, the 2015 ICC tournament will feature three of the best football teams in the world- Real Madrid CF, Manchester City FC and AS Roma. The opening match, held on Saturday July 18, at 7.00pm will see the champions of Europe, Real Madrid clash with Italian super club AS Roma. The next leg of the match to be held on Tuesday July 21 at 7.45pm, will see Manchester City, Melbourne City’s sister club, face off against AS Roma in what is sure to be thrilling game.
