- Bear Creek Golf Course (15.3 mi / 24.6 km)
- Loup Loup Ski Bowl (26.2 mi / 42.1 km)
- Lost River Winery (6.4 mi / 10.3 km)

Walking (and skiing) in a winter wonderland
Mazama is famous for the Methow Trails, 120 miles of cross-country skiing trails. For the ultimate thrill, the area also offers heli-skiing, where skiers head downhill after descending from a helicopter. When the weather warms, activities include hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and white-water rafting in the Cascades. The region also offers some of Washington's best rock-climbing conditions. For a less intense experience, the town hosts a farmers' market during the warmer months, where you can enjoy live music and buy local produce to bring back to your Mazama vacation rental.
Frost, flurries, and freezing temps—that's wintertime!
Winter brings biting conditions, with daytime highs near or below freezing, and evening lows dipping into the teens. You better unpack your parka as well since the region, which sees more than 100 inches of snow annually, gets pounded in December and January. The frost starts to thaw as spring begins and temperatures rise from the mid-40s to the mid-60s. Things finally heat up in the summer when the area experiences sunny, dry, and warm conditions with highs in the low 80s. But the cold starts to set in again in the fall with rain and temperatures in the 30s.
Into the great wide open with critters in the Cascades
Mazama offers a colorful landscape as the golden floor of the Methow Valley is dotted with vibrant wildflowers, before giving way to green forests filled with Douglas fir and Ponderosa pine. Aspen and Cottonwood trees also fill the region, as they line the blue waters of area creeks and rivers. You'll find plenty of gophers in the flatlands of Mazama, but climb into the mountains and much larger critters, such as timber wolves, bobcats, cougars, moose, elk, and even grizzly bears, call the place home.
